Photoinitiators
Photoinitiator BCIM
2,2′-Bis(2-chlorophenyl)-4,4′,5,5′-tetraphenyl-1,2′-biimidazole
Biimidazole initiator for photoimaging, dry-film resists and holography.
Product Description
BCIM is a hexaarylbiimidazole (HABI) photoinitiator. Upon UV exposure it cleaves photochemically into lophyl radicals, which in the presence of chain-transfer agents (amines, mercaptans, co-initiators) generate initiating species for radical polymerization — the operating principle of classic photoimaging systems.
It is the functional core of PCB dry-film photoresists, photopolymer recording materials and security-printing photoimaging layers, with excellent latent-image stability. Typical use: 1–5 wt% with matched co-initiators.
