Photoinitiators
Photoinitiator 2-EAQ
2-Ethylanthraquinone
The industrial anthraquinone — hydrogen peroxide carrier plus UV initiator.
Product Description
2-EAQ is the workhorse alkyl anthraquinone of the hydrogen peroxide industry, where it shuttles hydrogen in the anthraquinone oxidation process. The same photo-redox chemistry makes it an effective UV initiator and photosensitizer for radical systems, particularly with tertiary amines.
In UV curing it serves cost-sensitive ink and coating formulations and acts as sensitizer for onium salt cationic systems. Typical loadings are 1–4 wt% depending on the package.
