UV Absorbers
UV Absorber UV-326
2-(2'-Hydroxy-3'-tert-butyl-5'-methylphenyl)-5-chlorobenzotriazole
The food-contact friendly benzotriazole for polyolefins — pairs perfectly with HALS.
Product Description
UV-326 is a benzotriazole UV absorber that converts UV radiation in the 300–380 nm band into harmless heat energy through reversible intramolecular hydrogen bonding. It is one of the most approved UV absorbers globally, holding broad food-contact clearances including FDA and EU directives.
In polypropylene and polyethylene, UV-326 protects both the polymer and colored pigments from fading. It shows excellent synergy with HALS such as UV-770: the absorber shields the polymer bulk while the HALS quenches surface radicals, producing combined weathering performance far beyond either additive alone.
Typical loadings are 0.2–0.5 wt% in films and moldings. Aolong UV-326 is crystallized to ≥99.0% assay with low volatility for clean processing at polyolefin extrusion temperatures.
