UV Absorber UV-1577

2-(4,6-Diphenyl-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)-5-hexyloxyphenol

The high-performance triazine UV absorber for engineering plastics and demanding processing.

Product Description

UV-1577 is a hydroxyphenyl-triazine (HPT) UV absorber representing the highest performance class of UV filters. Its triazine chromophore delivers extremely strong, broad absorption in the 300–390 nm band with inherent photostability — the absorber does not degrade while doing its job.

With very low volatility at engineering plastic processing temperatures, UV-1577 is the UV absorber of choice for polycarbonate, PET, PBT and polyamide compounds processed at 280–300 °C where benzotriazoles would volatilize. Its hexyloxy chain ensures melt compatibility without plate-out.

Typical loadings are 0.1–0.5 wt%. Aolong UV-1577 is produced to ≥98.5% assay with controlled color for use in transparent and light-colored high-value compounds.
