Photoinitiators
Photoinitiator EHA
2-Ethylhexyl 4-(dimethylamino)benzoate
The high-boiling liquid amine synergist — better compatibility than EDB.
Product Description
EHA is the 2-ethylhexyl ester analog of EDB, trading a little synergist efficiency for substantially better solubility in acrylate oligomers and lower crystallization risk in formulations. It is the preferred amine for high-solids and cold-climate ink systems where EDB would precipitate.
It accelerates Type II initiators (ITX, DETX, MBP, BMS) and counters oxygen inhibition in Type I packages. Typical dosage is 1:0.5 to 1:1 versus the Type II component.
Key Features
- Excellent low-temperature solubility — no crystallization
