Photoinitiators
Photoinitiator DETX
2,4-Diethylthioxanthone
The diethyl thioxanthone — broader absorption and lower melting than ITX.
Product Description
DETX is a 2,4-diethyl-substituted thioxanthone Type II photoinitiator. The ethyl groups improve solubility in acrylate monomers versus ITX and broaden absorption slightly toward the visible edge, strengthening performance on 395–405 nm LED arrays.
Like ITX it operates through triplet-state hydrogen abstraction from amine synergists such as EDB or EHA, delivering fast surface cure in dense pigmented films. Typical use: 0.5–2 wt% with 1:0.5–1:1 amine ratio.
