Photoinitiators

Photoinitiator 379

2-Dimethylamino-2-(4-methylbenzyl)-1-(4-morpholinophenyl)-1-butanone

The liquid amino ketone — easy dosing with LED-friendly absorption.

Product Description

Photoinitiator 379 is the p-methylbenzyl analog of 369, supplied as a pale yellow crystalline-to-liquid grade that dissolves readily in acrylate oligomers. Its absorption profile closely matches UV LED emission at 385–405 nm while retaining full mercury-lamp activity.

The liquid handling advantage makes 379 convenient for inkjet and low-viscosity formulations where powder dissolution is impractical. Typical loadings are 1–4 wt% alone or in combination with TPO-L and ITX.

Key Features

  • Liquid handling — no powder dissolution step
  • UV LED responsive (385–405 nm)
  • Low odor suitable for packaging inks
  • Excellent compatibility with acrylate systems

Applications

  • UV LED inkjet inks
  • Flexographic and offset UV inks
  • Overprint varnishes
