Photoinitiator 369

2-Benzyl-2-(dimethylamino)-1-(4-morpholinophenyl)-1-butanone

Low-odor amino ketone with excellent UV LED response for inks and adhesives.

Product Description

Photoinitiator 369 is a second-generation α-amino ketone combining an anilino-morpholine chromophore with a benzyl-dimethylamino cleavage center. It absorbs efficiently in the near-UV/visible boundary region, giving it a strong response on 385–405 nm UV LED arrays while remaining fully active under mercury lamps.

Compared to 907, 369 offers lower odor and improved compatibility with low-migration food-packaging inks. Typical use levels are 1–4 wt% alone or 0.5–2 wt% with acylphosphine oxides for balanced LED curing.

Key Features

  • Strong 385–405 nm UV LED response
  • Lower odor than first-generation amino ketones
  • Excellent through-cure in pigmented films
  • Suitable for low-migration packaging systems

Applications

  • UV LED-cured offset and flexo inks
  • Pigmented wood and plastic coatings
  • UV adhesives and electronics encapsulants
  • Screen inks for packaging
  • LED-compatible inkjet formulations
