Light Stabilizers (HALS)
Light Stabilizer UV-3853
2,2,6,6-Tetramethyl-4-piperidinyl stearate (fatty acid ester mixture)
Fatty acid ester HALS — highly compatible in polyolefins without blooming, with excellent surface protection.
Product Description
UV-3853 is an ester-type hindered amine of 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidinol with C16–C18 fatty acids (mainly stearic); representative structure C27H53NO2, MW ≈ 424. Its waxy, low-melting form (mp ≈ 28 °C) makes dosing, mixing and dispersion easy at room temperature.
Thanks to the long aliphatic chain, UV-3853 offers high solubility and outstanding compatibility in polyolefins and styrenic resins: effective at low loadings with minimal blooming or migration — ideal for parts where surface quality and feel matter.
Typical applications span polyolefins, ABS, PU, coatings, adhesives and rubber, often blended with UV-770 or UV-622. Aolong UV-3853 has a fixed fatty-acid ester composition with QC-controlled batch consistency.
