Light Stabilizers (HALS)
Light Stabilizer UV-114
N,N'-Bis(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)isophthalamide
Amide-type low-basicity HALS — the long-term light/heat stabilizer for polyamide fibers and parts.
Product Description
UV-114 bridges two tetramethylpiperidyl groups with an isophthaloyl core. The amide linkage lowers nitrogen basicity well below conventional HALS, improving compatibility with acidic systems and halogen residues and widening its engineering-plastics reach.
It is the recognized long-term light/heat stabilizer for polyamide (PA6/PA66): in spinning and injection molding it improves melt stability and reduces yarn breakage, while enhancing dye affinity and color fastness; equally effective in filled and glass-reinforced nylons.
With a melting point above 270 °C, UV-114 does not volatilize or migrate at nylon processing temperatures — protection lasts the entire service life. Aolong UV-114 is a white crystalline powder; food-contact compliant grades are available.
