UV Absorber UV-400

Liquid hydroxyphenyl-triazine blend (C12/C13 alkyl ether structures)

Liquid HPT blend — low color, low migration, amine-catalyzed system compatible.

Product Description

UV-400 is a liquid blend of two long-alkyl-chain hydroxyphenyl-triazine (HPT) UV absorbers efficiently covering 300–400 nm. Its liquid form and low color make it particularly suitable for transparent clears and light shades without deepening film undertone.

The β-hydroxyalkyl ether structure provides low migration and high thermal stability, with excellent compatibility in amine- or metal-catalyzed coating systems — one of the few UV absorbers that can be used with confidence in such systems.

Typical addition is 1–3% on resin solids for solvent-borne and waterborne automotive OEM and refinish systems, best combined with HALS such as UV-292 or UV-123.
