Photoinitiators
Photoinitiator 184
1-Hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone
The low-odor, low-yellowing workhorse for clear coatings and food-safe ink systems.
Product Description
Photoinitiator 184 is an efficient alpha-hydroxy ketone Type I initiator offering one of the best cost-performance balances for UV-curable clear coats. It generates highly active radicals under 250–350 nm mercury lamp emission and provides excellent surface cure with minimal yellowing after cure.
Its relatively low odor and low volatility make 184 a preferred choice for furniture varnishes, paper overprint varnishes and UV inks for food and sensitive packaging, where post-cure odor complaints must be avoided.
Aolong 184 is crystallized to ≥99.0% HPLC assay with controlled residual solvents, supporting compliance testing for Swiss Ordinance and Nestlé guidance listings in food-contact ink applications.
