Aolong Chemical today officially commissioned its new UV-LED photoinitiator production line at the Suzhou plant, tripling annual capacity for TPO and photoinitiator 819 to meet accelerating demand from coatings, inkjet and 3D-printing customers migrating to LED curing.

Purity Built for LED Applications

The line incorporates DCS-controlled phosphination reactors and a closed-loop crystallization system that lifts typical batch purity to 99.5% or above — a level increasingly specified by inkjet and electronics formulators, where a few hundred ppm of by-product can clog sub-50 μm filters.

Low-Moisture Packaging as Standard

Alongside capacity, the investment introduces dedicated low-moisture packaging: TPO and 819 are filled under dry nitrogen into foil-lined fiber drums directly from the crystallizer, cutting water pickup to below 300 ppm and extending shelf life for customers in tropical climates.

"Formulators moving from mercury lamps to 395–405 nm LEDs need initiators that are not only photochemically right but analytically consistent. Every drum from this line carries batch-specific HPLC, acid value and moisture data on the COA."

Availability

Sample quantities of the new line's grades are available immediately, with commercial lead times of 3–7 working days from stock:

  • TPO — the backbone acylphosphine oxide for 395–405 nm systems
  • TPO-L — the liquid, easy-handling grade for clear films
  • 819 — the deep-cure grade for white and pigmented systems
